I am originally from the Cincinnati area. I completed my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at Purdue University and went on to work as an engineer in Columbus, IN. I then decided to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor and attended the University of Toledo for medical school. I returned to Indiana to complete my pediatric residency at St Vincent Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in 2012. I joined Southside Pediatrics in September of 2015. I enjoy working together with families to ensure their children are as healthy and happy as possible.

Jolene Fredriksz, MD

I spent my childhood moving between New Zealand, Australia and the US and followed by dream of becoming a ballerina all the way through college at Butler, earning a BA in Dance. Injuries interrupted my dance career and I rethought my goals, deciding to follow my father into medicine by attending the Medical University of South Carolina and then Pediatrics through residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. I’m so glad I did! Even on the worst of days, a child can make me smile. I joined Southside Pediatrics in 2007 and with your help, I provide medical students from IU Medical School with mentored shadowing opportunities in Pediatrics. Thank you all for sharing your children with me.

I was born in Winchester, Illinois and have spent the entirety of my life here in the Midwest.  I completed my undergraduate degree in Science Business at the University of Notre Dame, after which I attended medical school at Southern Illinois University. Having always enjoyed working with children, including as a basketball coach and as a tutor, I knew right away I wanted to work as a Pediatrician.  I completed my pediatrics residency at Indiana University in 2023 and am looking forward to my new position here at Southside Pediatrics! I enjoy talking to patients and families about preventative care to help ensure long, happy, healthy lives.
